Dear Conant Families and Caregivers,
Our short week at Conant School was a full one! Despite being in school for only three days, we focused on the usual academic and social/emotional instruction and activities that keep students engaged in and enthusiastic about learning. This is no small accomplishment when the weather is arguably perfect and calling for lots of outdoor activity. Our teachers and staff bring their best selves to work everyday and demonstrate exactly what we ask of our students:
Positivity
Respect
Integrity
Determination and
Empathy
Thank you to them and you.
My best wishes for an enjoyable weekend.
Sincerely,
Tricia O’Reilly, Principal Conant School

As the weather warms up, cycling becomes a wonderful, healthy activity for families to enjoy together. However, before we pull the bicycles out of the garage and dust off the helmets, it is incredibly important to ensure that both you and your children are riding safely.
A properly fitted bicycle helmet is the single most effective way to reduce the risk of head and brain injuries in the event of an accident. To keep everyone safe on the wheels this season, please review and practice these essential cycling rules with your children:
Check Your Gear
Size it Right: Make sure the bicycle is the correct size for the rider and that all parts (brakes, tires, chains) are in proper working order.
Helmet Always: Wear a properly fitted bicycle helmet every single time you ride—even for short trips down the driveway.
Be Visible & Secure: Wear bright or reflective clothing so drivers can see you, and always wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes (no flip-flops).
Rules of the Road
Stick to Daylight: For the best visibility, limit bike riding to daylight hours.
Go with the Flow: Always ride on the right-hand side of the street, traveling in the same direction as vehicular traffic.
Obey the Law: Stop at all stop signs, obey traffic signals, and yield to pedestrians.
Use Hand Signals: Teach and use proper hand signals for left turns, right turns, and stopping.
Safety Tip: A helmet should sit level on the head and low on the forehead—one or two finger-widths above the eyebrows. The straps should form a "V" under the ears and fit snugly under the chin.
Thank you for helping us keep our community's children safe and active this season.

Hello Conant Families,
This year our Conant School's Polar Pride day will be held on Friday, June 12. (The rain date is on Tuesday, June 16) Similar to previous years it will be held outside, and we will need parent volunteers from every grade level to help run the games.
If you're available on Friday, June 12 between 8:45 - 11:30, please click this LINK to sign up on Sign Up Genius! (Please note that our rain date is Tuesday, June 16.)
Thank you so much in advance!
Please note that you would need to be CORI'd. If you do not have a current CORI, you would need to come to our Conant office to do the quick paperwork by the end of May.
Thank you!
