Dear Conant Families and Caregivers,

Thank you to everyone who supported the Conant Fall Fest on Wednesday. A cherished event, it could not have happened without all our parent volunteers and supporters. A special thanks to our teachers who organized the event, Ms. Luke, Ms. Norsworthy, Ms. Pastor and Ms. Worcester.

Another revered tradition at Conant School is the monthly granting of the Polar Pride Award.  Students who demonstrate the character traits of Positivity, Respect, Integrity, Determination and Empathy are recognized in front of their peers and given certificates at an All School Meeting. Limited to only one student per teacher nomination each month, it has become a coveted recognition.  Our next All School Meeting is on November 20th. Be sure to ask your child about this special acknowledgment.

My very best wishes  for a safe and relaxing weekend. As always, please let me know if there is anything I can do for you or your family.

Warmly,

Tricia O’Reilly

Principal Conant School

Dear Parents/Guardians,

This weekend, Daylight Saving Time ends and for many children it may cause a disruption to their sleep schedule. Research suggests that insufficient sleep is associated with poor school performance, difficulties with attention, and  stress regulation. Experts recommend for children 6 to 12 years old to have 9 to 12 hrs of sleep per night. Creating a relaxing bedtime routine can help your child/ren to adjust easier. Please consider these suggestions:

  • Keep it consistent. Bedtime routine should start at the same time every night

  • Limit screen time before bed. Children should stop using electronic devices at least 30 minutes before bedtime routine begins

  • Take warm bath/shower and brush teeth

  • Read a book or sing a song

  • Turn the lights out at bedtime.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
